Terms of Service
These terms describe what banner·hook does, how we expect it to be used, and the limits of our responsibility. By using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
What banner·hook is
banner·hook takes short-form video clips (via pasted transcript, supported social URL, or audio upload) and returns short captions intended for use as banner overlays on social video. The outputs are generated by large language models and may be inaccurate, misleading, or unsuitable for your use case. You are responsible for reviewing every banner before publishing it.
Acceptable use
Don't use banner·hook to:
- Submit clips you do not have the right to use (copyright, consent, likeness).
- Submit private / non-consensual content (including content from private social accounts you do not own).
- Target a specific person with harassment, defamation, or threats.
- Generate content that is sexual about minors, promotes self-harm, or would violate an LLM provider's acceptable-use policy (see Anthropic AUP).
- Scrape, mirror, or resell the vault data or generated outputs at scale.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, interfere with, or overload the service. This includes probing for vulnerabilities outside of good-faith security research (see "Security reports" below).
- Use the service to build a competing product using outputs you obtained from banner·hook.
Limits
- Free usage is rate-limited to a daily cap. The cap may change at any time.
- Bring-your-own-key (BYOK) requests use the key you provide to call the third-party provider directly. You pay that provider; we don't.
- Audio uploads are capped at 10 GB per file.
- URL inputs must resolve to public social clips (TikTok / Instagram reels or posts / YouTube / YouTube Shorts / Google Drive / Dropbox / direct MP4). Private or restricted URLs will fail.
Your content
You keep every right you have in the content you submit. By submitting content you grant banner·hook a limited licence to process it strictly to produce the output for you (including sending it to the LLM / transcription providers listed in the Privacy Policy). We do not use your content to train any model.
Generated output
The banners returned to you are generated output — LLM-produced text. We do not claim authorship of them. You are responsible for verifying accuracy and for any downstream use. If an output closely resembles the underlying clip's dialogue, that is by design; check rights before publishing.
Availability
banner·hook is a best-effort service. There are no uptime guarantees. We may pause, throttle, or remove features at any time. Downtime incidents, cost spikes, or provider outages may force service interruptions without notice.
Account suspension
We may suspend or remove access — with or without notice — for accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service (including running up LLM costs beyond what is reasonable for personal use), or whose behaviour is creating risk for other users.
Warranty disclaimer + liability
The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, banner·hook is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from your use of the service or reliance on its outputs. Our total aggregate liability is capped at whatever amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, on the current free tier, is zero).
Security reports
Found a security issue? Email security@bannerhook.com (or hello@bannerhook.com if the former bounces) with reproduction steps. Please do not publicly disclose before we've had a reasonable chance to fix. We don't run a bug bounty yet but we'll credit good-faith reports.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via the contact email associated with your account. The "Last updated" date above tracks revisions.
